See today’s Houston Chronicle story on Northwest Flyer Alumni Antonio Ruiz who qualified to the NCAA D1 track & field scholarships in Eugene Oregon this week.
He is a real live example of the relationship between sprinting and jumps – in high school Antonio was a district champion and regional medalist in the sprints and hurdles, in addition to the pole vault. Proper sprint technique is critical to optimal performance in the jumps.
